Sunset sherbet hydro grow issues

Postby jasego » Thu Mar 02, 2017 2:24 pm

Hi there. Thanks for your time...
So I'm out of ideas here... I've had issues with a returning fungal or bacterial infestation in my dwc bucket, and I've gone through multiple h202 flushes, cleaned all my parts with h202, and let the roots sit in water with hydroguard, a couple of times..a few times the slime and staining came back, but this time the roots seem to be at least a stable beige color, but the water is starting to smell like pond water again... I'm not developing any roots anymore, so it seems... the room temp is about 80°F, it's kept in my closet, the water is ph balanced filtered tap water, im using fox farm hydroponic base nutes, although i havnt used them in a couple weeks due to all the flushing ive had to do.. ive noticed the rotting and staining multiplies when I add those nutes.... could somebody please help guide me in the right direction? The steps I took came strait from a growers "how to care for root rot" article, and I'm still not having luck.. plant seems healthy, a little nutrient deptived, and stunted. But healthy.

Im no pro, but that temp sure seems pretty darn high. I keep my water temp between 68 and 72 and never let it get over 72!!!
I've grown hydroponically for a short time. But there are some real good hydro growers here and I'm sure they will help you out.
If growing in dwc the only way I see of controlling the water temp is to do RDWC!
Good Luck, and I look forward to some more experienced hydro growers response.

I appreciate that peice of your mind, rocket... that must be the issue ; high temps... I need to look into a water chiller asap.. that and if I were using RO water, I know I wouldn't be worrying at all.. btw, what is am rdwc??

recirculating deep water culture.(RDWC)
if you have a Reservoir i have some cheaper
ideas on cooling your water rather than buying
a very expensive water chiller!!
I may be mis speaking but you really need a Reservoir
to make it practical to cool you water.
With my cooling system I can freeze 30 gallons of water in about
3 hours.

try to add more air-stones and a stronger pump to increase the oxygen in the buckets if you cant find a way to keep the buckets cooler, and increase the ambient air exchange in your closet, hydro needs plenty of air because of the extra humid transpiration.
external reservoir maybe the answer as suggested.
